History

We have been proudly championing sustainability and equity since our founding in 1991. We help our customers reduce their utility usage and costs, while maximizing sustainability impacts and supplier diversity spend. We are excited to share with you some of the highlights along our journey.

1991-2002

Founding Era

Founded as JIT Services, Inc., our company built an excellent reputation for competitive, high-quality “just in time” engineering, accounting and office staffing services to the commercial services industry.

2002-2006

Transitional Times

Mike Menzel, current President, and five other key employees helped the company transition to a utility and energy consulting focus, delivering cost savings and efficiency to customers through utility bill processing, bill audits, and energy and water efficiency consulting.

After transitioning to the utility and energy consulting industry within a year, we developed a user-friendly, web portal to provide timely, accurate, and relevant data to our customers. We pride ourselves on taking a continuous improvement approach to our informational infrastructure.

2006-2007

Multi-Family Expansion

After having a successful track record of utility bill processing and audits in the commercial sector, the company entered the multi-family industry, currently the largest sector we serve. We have saved our multi-family customers over $45 million dollars and counting!

2007-2017

Partnerships, Progression and Recognition

In 2008, as a certified MBE and woman-owned business, our company won Minneapolis/St.Paul Business Journal’s Minority Business Award, increasing our brand and exposure.

In 2009, after saving General Mills hundreds of thousands of dollars in its first year of service and increasingly more in each year thereafter, we were awarded the General Mills Minority Business Supplier of the Year.

In our pursuit of improving our sustainability bandwidth and a deep desire to better our surrounding community, we partnered with EnerChange to provide no-cost energy efficiency consulting services to Minnesota non-profit organizations, as a fantastic way to benefit our local non-profits and their important programs.

In 2013, our growth began to lead to regional and national recognition. We were awarded the NCMSDC’s Regional Supplier of the Year, nominated by General Mills.

As the company continued to grow in the multi-family sector, we expanded our service offerings to include residential billing and additional reporting capabilities. This foresight led to easy-to-access information and an overall convenience for our multi-family property managers and owners.

2017-2021

Next Level Growth

In 2017, after facilitating millions of dollars in rebates for our local commercial customers, the company was named an Xcel Energy Efficiency Partner award winner for our Business Energy Efficiency Programs. We received the award in 2018 as well.

In 2019, Ravi Norman and Dr. Harold Massey formed NGE Holdings and acquired majority interest in the company, naming Ravi Norman as CEO. Norman facilitated a strategic growth plan focused on stewardship, sustainability, and equity.

Amidst a global pandemic, we accelerated our positive impacts on people, profit and planet, as evidenced by our nomination by Medtronic as NCMSDC's Class 4 Supplier of the Year.

Former CEO of Ecolab, Doug Baker, took a minority stake in the company.

2022-present

We will continue to leverage Sage Advice and Agile Utility Data that positively impacts people, profit and planet.
